BUYER/DEALER

Meet Miriam

In my late teenage years, I was introduced to collecting dolls and I continued to collect them until the late 1990s/early 2000 decade. When the market bottomed out, I lost interest in collecting dolls.
In 2004, I was reading a weekly antique newspaper and I saw an ad for an 8-week antiques class being offered by an auctioneer in Reading, PA. My sister and I enrolled in the course, which started me on another journey. We learned a lot as each student brought something along to be appraised. After the course was finished, I wanted to find something to buy and sell, in addition to continuing my regular registered nurse position in the hospital. Throughout my life, I was one who enjoyed doing a variety of things, so I needed something else to do outside the pressures of being a nurse.
One day I was browsing through an antique mall looking for something that I might enjoy selling. I remember seeing a Fenton cranberry coin dot vase and looking at the price of it. I went home and looked it up online and thought that maybe I can buy that same thing online for about half the price and sell it in an antique mall. (I discovered it was not that simple later on.)

That was the beginning. My intent was just to buy and sell but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with Fenton glass and began collecting it. I have expanded into other categories as well. In 2011, I became a Mosser Glass dealer. I also sell Jack Pine glass (made in OH) and Stiegel Glassworks glass (made in PA). I am currently working on establishing relationships with other glassmakers. Today, I have quite a collection of Fenton glass and many other types of art glass. I have not limited myself just to Fenton as I have interest in any type of art glass.
